Education has two primary purposes: to help individuals participate productively in the economy and to develop people to fill the high position in a democracy: the citizen. We take the long view that a highly educated populace is mandatory for a healthy democracy.
The Public Square Academy is a Civics and Consumer Education platform for citizens of good faith to develop effective citizenship skills and contribute to the common good. We support programs across a broad range of subjects each designed to develop more educated citizens, empowered consumers, engaged communities, and informed voters
Media Meal Planning
Audience
People who are troubled and confused by the noise in media and fears of fake news.
Purpose
Develop a clear understanding of the role of journalism, and what principle and policies lead to quality reporting.
Products
You will develop a media meal plan which will save you time and anguish as you fulfill your job as citizen
Transformation
You will become a more confident and effective citizen, able to participate more effectively in discussions and at the ballot.
Schedule
This is an open class, participants can join any time and complete the work with the support of a mentor, or join a group and work on a schedule.
